Some Of My Plastic USAAF Oldies

Just dusted off these solid resin wonders from the mid 1990s:

Cool Re: Some Of My Plastic USAAF Oldies

They look very good indeed. Did you do the painting? I like the way the panels are highlighted.

Yep. These were all brush painted and the color change on the aluminum P-51 panels was one of my early efforts at weathering.

Good looking selection of USAAF aircraft. I like like the paint scheme you did on the P-39.

I'm liking the P-51Bs!

Don't do what BDE tells you to do. Do what BDE would want you to do.

Good fighter planes you got there.....Bluenosers look great....
Notice how well you did the bare metal shades with HO&M P-51B..

Re: Some Of My Plastic USAAF Oldies

Could we get a close up of the earlier P-51 weathering job? Like to see how you went about doing the different panel coloring.

Re: Some Of My Plastic USAAF Oldies

Sorry about the quality of the picture but the old aluminum paint has chipped off a bit. All I did was to pick out various panels and paint them in a silver color to contrast with the duller aluminum.

I have seen some work by folks that had used this technique before on natural metal finished aircraft. Yours work looks pretty much the same as the other pieces I have seen weathering fashion used on. Provides another neat way to give a model the " I have actually been out side look". Just like you other work, looks great.
