Re: Some Of My Royal Navy Warbirds

Thanks, ChairmanMilo. Yes, I would recommend IXO's Skua---bearing in mind it is an IXO, hence subject to the problems associated with this line. As I recall, this was a fairly clean model and I didn't have to do much cleanup before displaying it. As you can see, I presented the model wheels up so I can't speak for the fit of the main landing gear, which, on IXOs, can be a problem.

Because they are a three point arrangement the gear on the Skua is better than some of the IXO models. It still benefits from some Elmer's glue though.

Re: Some Of My Royal Navy Warbirds

ChairmanMilo, I would recommend the Skua, its not a bad model and my example had no QC issues at all.
It has sat on its undercarriage for 2 years now including a minor earthquake and is just fine.

God Bless America.

Re: Some Of My Royal Navy Warbirds

I only mean this as constructive criticism, so I hope i don't annoy or offend you. I always look forward to seeing your modified birds since it's a realm i want to explore soon (i.e. mods), but you're pictures, for some reason, always seem very dark and grainy. I'm pretty sure it's the backgroud. The pictures on this post, however, are excellent. They really showcase your planes much clearer. I think it's the angle and lighting. Thus, I would keep this angle. Or you could consider a different background. Just my opinion. Btw, I'm pretty sure it was you that modified a Corgi JU-52 winter bird. It maede me really appreciate that kind of talent.

Peace,

-prop

Skua looks great on the carrier deck. Picked up two of these, kind of like the Blackburn Skua. One of these days I have to get around to fixing the fin flash

I tend to agree with you, prop. I'm not much good with cameras but I tried a new flash setting on this one so maybe I'll keep using it. I'll also experiment with some new backgrounds---perhaps lighter ones. Thanks for your suggestions.

Great looking shot of the Fulmar. Could we get one like this for the Firefly?

You did a great job on this one and it sure would be nice to have one of these in diecast. All around good looking aircraft and would be a great 1/72nd scale addition.
