My 1/48 Marushin/pacific collection

Here are some new pics of my revised collection. Not all my Marushin are assembled and on display, but I have added the 21st Century planes to my display and they go rather nicely.

Man, from the distance of the shots the 21st century and marushins blend together well.... that Hellcat's looking more appealing I just want to wait for some more livery choices I think.

Nice display Harry.

The more I see pictures like these, Harry, the more I'm inclined to expand my currently tiny Marushin collection. Like Gort, I really like those Tony's.

Re: My 1/48 Marushin/pacific collection

Marushins do look nice, kind of wish they would expand their line.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: My 1/48 Marushin/pacific collection

I really do like the 21st Tonys as they are cheap but well made and very detailed. I was really surprised at the level of detail in the cockpit of the Hellcat as it looks like a well built model with painted instrument panel/gauges. The only drawback to the Hellcat, and I didn't notice it until I assembled the second one, is that 21st put the down gear doors on backwards and they are so firmly attached, I would break the gear strut trying to get it apart, but it isn't that noticeable, especially for less than $15.
The Camo Tony came and went in my area so fast that I was going to buy extras and they were gone. The Green Tonys (2) came from a member of another board and I like them just as much as the Camo one. I assembled one Green Tony and am keeping the other one for future repaints. The only thing I did to the Green Tony was paint the drop tanks Japanese orange/yellow.

I think the one on the middle shelf is a plastic 21st Century -- you can save yourself about $80 clams with that one... looks nice on the shelf too!

I honestly can't tell the difference unless I pick them up. And, IMHO, the 21st jobbies look just a tad better (landing gear, small details) but you didn't hear that from me.

Very nice Harry, I like the mix of schemes. Also am with the guys who agree the blend of metal and plastic models works well. I may look into the 21st Century Tonys.

Great display, Harry. I'll have to check my local stores for the 21st Century Tony.
