Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

How about an HE-177 in 1:72nd scale?

Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

I would personally ove to see the HE-177 manufactured in 1/72 scale. There should be a ton of schemes and enough variants that it would fun picking and choicing.

Anything for a weird life.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

A Dornier 217 would be nice and is overdue.

Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

The He 177 and the Fw 200 would both make for some good looking four engine/heavie aircraft. Another one I would like to see done would be the Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

I remember making the Airfix model of the 177.

Not a bad kit.

I would like to see a Do17 in BoB scheme some time soon.

God Bless America.

It still kind of a four engine bomber though. Each nacelle has two 12 cylinder DB 605s (DB 610) mounted side by side with a single gear casing connecting the two crankcases, and the two crankshaft pinions driving a single airscrew shaft. They might have had more success if they had mounted each engine in its own nacelle.

Sorry CC it was just me having a little fun.

I got to see an engine from a 177 while on holiday in Germany (museum near Munich).
Beautifully crafted piece of work as you would expect but having 2 engines fixed together in one casting was a serious mistake.
As you know it was impossible to cool the durn thing resulting in many engine failures and several fatal crashes due to fire.

God Bless America.
