Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

Sorry CC it was just me having a little fun.

I got to see an engine from a 177 while on holiday in Germany (museum near Munich).
Beautifully crafted piece of work as you would expect but having 2 engines fixed together in one casting was a serious mistake.
As you know it was impossible to cool the durn thing resulting in many engine failures and several fatal crashes due to fire.

Pictures,,, numerous pictures please. You can never have to many warbird (or tank) photos.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Sorry CC but I didnt take any,
My German buddies made it a surprise visit for me and I didnt have a camera .

If I could think of the museums name I could direct you to the website that I am sure they have.

Can any member help out please?

I do remember that there is a picture of the engine on their website.
There are also some very rare aircraft there.
If only I could remember.

It was a former Luftwaffe training base.

God Bless America.

The B-29 would be a runaway favorite! Think of all the oddball, artsy nose art.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

Of course the first "new" heavy Corgi should make is the Stirling.

Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

the B-29 should be the #1 new 1/72 heavy that Corgi should make. Its only obvious!

1/72 is the MASTER scale!

I'm with you Smartd, it is the logical one to wrap up the RAF 'Heavies"

And along with ZS I think the Sunderland would be another winner.

Take it out and play with it

Talking Re: Heavies That The "New" Corgi Should Make

my picks are as follows

1. Stirling
2. A -20 boston
3.FW200 condor
4. B-29
5.Bristol Beaufort
6.Martin B-26 Marauder
7.Mitsubishi G4M1
8.Lockheed PV-1 Ventura/ PV-2 Harpoon

Not in any Particular order but you could do some interesting and diverse markings with most of these types...{edit} oh I know its not really a heavy but I would love to see a Westland whirlwind

Exactly, it is only logical that Corgi should wrap up the Four RAF heavies

Yep, Short Stirling would be the way to go, but still would like to see the Manchester too.
