Re: I Adora My Doras

Being a late entry into the war it is not too surprising to see all the models with Defense of the Reich bands....nice collection.

Re: I Adora My Doras

Epapazian, I see you have a Carousel 1 Focke Wulf in front. Nice!!

I have a 'Dora' in 1/32nd scale from 21st Century, a 'Dora' in 1/48th scale by Carousel 1 (Barkhorn), but I do not have a 'Dora' in 1/72nd scale. Anyone out there have an opinion on which manufacturer produces the best 'Dora' in 1/72nd?

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

Dragon's 1:72nd scale Dora is a decent replica, except for the omission of the wheels-up part for the tail wheel and the loop antenna under the belly of the fuselage. Also, I keep encountering trouble with the fit of Dragon's main undercarriage. Fortunately, I like to display aircraft as if in flight. To do this with Dragon's Dora, I fashion a mostly retracted tail wheel and stick it in the appropriate position. I also add a pilot figure, do some weathering and then, I'm home free.

Aside from dragon, the only other 1:72nd scale Dora I know of was put out by IXO. For an IXO, it's not too bad, however the Chinese factory couldn't be bothered to drill homes for the cannon in the wing roots, nor provide any substitute---which is a major flaw in my book.

Uhhh.....as I stated previously........MRC! It is, of course, u/c down, so if you like'em in flight, that would not work too well for you. (do a little bit of surgery?)

I assumed that he was referring to diecast Doras, however you raise a good point. The MRC Doras could be the best out there, except I'm not terribly happy with Easy Model's scheme selections. Hmmmn! Maybe I should redo one of them and see how it looks.
