Re: Most Expensive Model

I paid 150 euro's (225 USD) for the Corgi Pathfinders set (Lancaster and Mosquito).
It was, at the time, the only affordable Lancaster for me.

In my collection the most expensive model is Tiger I Sd.Kfz.181 "Michael Wittman" (SPECJAL), sSS-PzAbt 101, Eastern Front 1944 from Dragon Can.Do 20051. Model is worth about 80$ in eBay. It's wery rare model.

Re: Most Expensive Model

The most expensive models I ever bought were the original Battle of Britain Memorial Flight set, Marushin's Betty Bomber, and recently the battle-weary CHC Messerschmitt 109. There are also some models in my collection which have increased hugely in value - the Aussie Mosquito, Galland's Flying Aces 109, the Garfield Weston Spit, Armour's torpedo Stuka and naval Me 262, and of course Minichamps' original Panther and Konigstiger. I bought most of these simply because I liked them, and it's cool to see how coveted they have become, even if some do not fit the theme of my collection as well anymore.

Of course, before anyone accuses me of being a lucky sod, there were royal flops as well - the "Pacific" 8th AF set, pretty much anything Armour, anything in 1/144. So the models that have increased in value are offset by some that have truly plummeted, and that can be hard to swallow if you decide to downsize your collection. Still, seeing all those models in my collection never fails to make me smile, regardless of what I actually paid for them or what they are worth. There's just nothing like it!

Re: Most Expensive Model

My second Herpa Premium model is on its way to YKF.
It's on final approach, clear to land on any available runway.
It's the B737-300 Western Pacific "Spirit of Durango"
Pictures will be posted when arriving...
See it here until then...

In far distance behind the WP 737 the B727-200 United Airlines is seen departing towards its final destination at YKF.
Pictures will be posted as well...for now see it here...

Re: Most Expensive Model

That a nice looking bird aradrom. I'm definitely getting into 1/200 airliners soon.

(I didn't know about the model database at D.A.C, thanks for that)
