Re: Most Expensive Model

The most expensive model I owe is a 1:200 Herpa Premium A300 in American Airlines livery.
It cost me $360.00 to get it. A buddy of mine got it for me while visiting Germany.
The model features, chrome finish, see through cockpit & cabin windows, extreme details (aerials/antennas/markings...etc...) rotating engine fans, rubber rotating landing gear and steering nose gear.
Check out these photo's I had posted on DAC forum...Enjoy...

Nice pix,

Strong money, but a V.nice looking model.

Wish the 'Inflight'-200 models were more easily available & cheaper !
I've seen several of those which catch my eye....

Namely, the 'Sabena' Boeing 707 (1/200).

As I know next to nothing about 'Air-liner' models; HOW DO HERPA PREMIUM COMPARE TO INFLIGHT ?

So far, the only airliners I've got are Corgi's "Eagle" Brittania & 3 x 707's (TWA & Brit' Airways)
& they're obviously not even in the same league

Herpa Premium models are far superior to the Inflight200 line.
If you want the ultimate in detail & accurracy - Herpa Premium is the answer.(They come with a hefty price tag).
Herpa Premium has a down fall though...White airline liveries tend to yellow over time...
There are only a few that would never yellow. This A300 American, never will.
There's a KLM B747-400 as well as WP (Western Pacific) B737-300 and finally the United Airlines B727.
These are rare...but sometimes they pop up on Ebay...
I have a few Military Inflight200 on my International Aviation day diorama.
I find Corgi's airline selection is very inferior with lack of detail & accurracy - toy look like.
If you want to start an airline collection start with Gemini200 then Inflight200 and ultimatelly...Herpa Premium...
Good luck...

Re: Most Expensive Model

Well, right now my most expensive model is a 1:18 scale P-40 Flying Tiger autographed by the recently deceased "Tex" Hill, estimated around $500.00. Real nice and down to earth guy.

Hello aradom, nice to see that even other forum members have these Herpa Premium 1/200.
I used to have all of their Lufthansa Premium models, but I sold all except of the B737 Express and B747 Hannover, the one with the Expo-Painting.
I will post some pictures later the day when I´am back from work

Re: Most Expensive Model

Wow, I've not been into "civies" yet but those look very cool indeed...

The most I've ever forked out for one model, well a set, is $175 delivered for the Merlins over Malta set and the same for the first Corgi BOBMF set. And I'm one of the "suckers' that paid $100+ for several of my GMPs... oh well. I've only lost $ if I sell 'em right!

The most valuable model I have left in my collection based on its original purchase price and current market value is the Flying Mule Galland, which I won't have for long...

Re: Most Expensive Model

As far as what I paid, my MoM set. For current value, either that, or my Flying Mule exclusive Galand Me 262, which no one on this forum seems to want............ (I really should Ebay it sometime)
