Re: Four Costal Command Birds

I'm diggin' that Whitley Epapazian. Is that a kit you built? I have the Corgi 1/144 CC Fortress and 1/72 CC Lib that goes nicely with those in your pic. Also have the Atlas 1/144 Coastal Command Hudson that isn't bad.

The Whitley and the Hudson are special solid resin castings I had made a dozen years ago. Both have their canopies, windows, etc painted a glossy midnight blue to create the illusion of depth---it usually works. The Whitley was particularly challenging since I had to fabricate those radar-like antennas you see all over the plane out of aluminum tubing punctured by small holes for the horizontal rods. That took about 5-6 hours to get more or less right. Wouldn't it be great if Corgi did either one of these planes in diecast, or, better still----both of them?

Re: Four Costal Command Birds

Sure would like to see the Whitley and the Hudson done in diecast. You sure do have some good looking models.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Absolutely would be, and there's several livery and Mk. options for both so they're viable ideas.

Yes, makes me want to get that 1/72 Whitley kit out of the closet and build it!
