Re: Butcher Birds Anyone?

hi! nice collections. who (maker) makes the red - yellow nose model? are they hard to find? i did a quick scamp across the net and didnt see one. ty
also im just getting into this and my 1st one was the white wash, green heart fock-wulf.
was wondering quality wise whats best 1/72 scale maker? 1st one was corgi, (overall looks good except one of my screw holes on the right wing wasnt filled with paint all the way)
ive got a stuka coming from hobby masters and a bf-109 coming from gemini.

The one with the red and yellow striped spinner is a Matchbox product which I repainted in the correct upper surface grays, rather than greens as originally depicted. As for the quality question, I would have to rate Dragon's FW-190As as having an edge over the Corgis, except for Dragon's omission of the tail wheel in the "up" mode. They provide both types of main landing gear options but only one version for the tail wheel---which is ridiculous.

Cruver- you make me jealous!

I though to have a big Luftwaffe collection, but compared to yours, I am just a beginner.

Wasp, welcome to the forum!!

As far as Franklin Mint goes, that all depends on what diecast you're talkin' about!! Just like any other diecast manufacturer, some FM models are better than others. For example, I would put my Ju-87G-1 tankbuster Stuka up against any Carousel 1, Eagles International, HobbyMaster, or Marushin 1/48th scale that I own and the quality and accuracy is spot on.

Welcome to the forum. Trust me, there are folks in this group that have some really huge collections, and make what I have look like a drop in a bucket. I do like the Luftwaffe fighters though and currently building up my Bf 109 selection which is currenly sitting at 22 109s. This place has some really great information and reveiws on diecast aircraft.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Butcher Birds Anyone?

Welcome, Spadak!! I, too, am a big fan of Luftwaffe fighters, but I think I have more in 1/48th scale than I do in 1/72nd scale!!
