Re: The value of your collection?

As I noted in my earlier post, it's always difficult to assess the value of your collectibles. What do you guys think this Cruver WWII ID model garnered at an online auction? It's a B&V 139.

Nice looking model, that one would probably go between $400.00 and $600.00 (If it is minus the vinegar odor.).

Correct CC. You put me onto this particular source in an old thread, so I'm not surprised you nailed this one. What amazes me is that even a totally melted down and falling apart Lancaster model fetched $20 on the same auction site while models that are rather badly warped and obviously, on their last legs, still induce bids of $50-70. Go figure.

Re: The value of your collection?

I currently have about 150 strickly diecast airplanes in my collection ranging from the little Corgie Nose Art collection up to 1:32 Scale with a few 1:48 thrown in. Most of my collection though is 1:72. On my spreadsheet, I have just the price I paid for them which totals about $3800.00. I have no idea what the retail would be or if I tried to sell them.

Re: The value of your collection?

I probably spent more on die-cast planes and armor in the past 2 years than many small countries have in their treasury. I have over 300 planes and over 240 armor and that doesn't count the pre-orders for this spring.

Re: The value of your collection?

I spend an average of about $100.00 a month on my collection for the last 10 years so I'm pretty sure I have exceeded $12,000.00.

Re: The value of your collection?

I would guesstimate the value of my diecasts collections somewhere in the upper $7k +. For me it's not the quantity or numbers in your collection, but more like how much you doled out for
these when you bought them initially! I don't even want to contemplate on how much I've already spent because I've been collecting items for over 30+ years and diecasts is only but a small
part of my entire collections!

Re: The value of your collection?

Guess it's about time I added up costs. I keep a written record of all purchases and have been intending to transfer it to excell, now I have a reason to do that.

I you see the total it is a very sobering moment... I can promise that!

Regarding my collection: I won't go into details but without it I'd be driving a nice and fast convertible
