Lanceforthright's Eagle's Nest

I have been collecting diecast aircraft for some time and have always had a facination with the contribution the real aircraft had made during the dark conflict of WW2. I love history, and I love aircraft. My collection has sadly never seen the light of day, having been left in their boxes, within other boxes, and hidden from view except always in the back of my mind. I have never really had a home where I was comfortable enough to display them as I would have liked. My collection has been purchased over time, and has been a hard road having purchased most of my goods from the UK and USA (Thanks to the mule, DD, Pete's, and badcats). The postage has been enough to support a small nation. These items are not readily imported into Australia, at what I would deem a reasonable and fair price.

Recently I bought a home which alllowed me to establish my own "Shangri-La". A place where I could be myself, work, play, relax.....enjoy. I went about searching for the right kind of display cabinet having been disatisfied with the numerous and outrageously expensive quotes of a custom cupboard. Eventually, I found what I thought was a good balance, and well.......These are the results.

Incidentally, I would like to thank all the members of this forum who have ever made a contribution. Whilst I don't say much, I have gained much more, and have enjoyed the jokes, views, information, and opinions of my fellow collectors. Please note however......this does not entitle you to a claim in the event of my early demise.

Once again....Thank you

Very impressive. With collectors like you supporting them, the folks at Corgi have little to worry about. Thanks for the pics.

I think your new avatar is great, too Mike. I couldn't have described it better myself.

Your collection is fantastic, Lance. I'm glad you are finally getting the chance to enjoy it in the light of day.

And no, it's not a proposal.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!
