Re: Besides diecast aircraft, what else do you collect?

Reference books and maps for Pennsylvania geology. I am a geologist, afterall. Something about having a piece of paper instead of a computer screen just appeals to me.

I also have a meager (less than a dozen) collection of diecast construction equipment.

Re: Besides diecast aircraft, what else do you collect?

A decent amount of flight hours (900 plus since getting here with 600), flights in airplane types (23 and counting now), airports (7 in Georgia and several more in different states), Georgia peaches (2 and counting) both now as James Bond likes em....shaven not furred. Oh, and as for collections, Topping and Precise manufacturer's Models from the 50s to the 90s, books about things that fly and float, and finally, Original Pilot Manuals from WW-2 to the 80s (an Original B-24D, F6F-3/5/5N Hellcat, F-105, F-8J, F-14A, and F/A-18A/B Natops, plus my most recent acquisition, an F-86F Dash 1 that came unbound, but which I was able to put in the USAF F-105 binder, giving me one book with 2 Airplane Handbooks inside.)

I've got quite a few dinky toys, mostly armor.
Also collect and rebuild antique farm machinery.
Presently working on a horse-drawn farm wagon.

Aside of my 1:72 scale collection I also have 1:200 scale die cast airliners (Inflight200) & military fighter planes (Herpa/Hogan/Gulliver200)

I like everything that flies... except flies...

First post ever:

I'm a newbie to collecting diecast planes (got 3 Corgi 1/32 Bf-109s, 5 Corgi 1/72 models, 1 Gemini Aces model, and 2 smaller scale armour/corgi showcase models; this stuff is quite addicting), but I used to collect diecast NASCAR (specifically the old tobacco sponsored teams) until about 1999 or so (then the sport got away from its roots and the cars began looking really ridiculous, so I lost interest). I got quite a load of that stuff that I'm debating getting rid of. I've also collected the McFarlane Hockey figures and other various McFarlane items (Eddie the Trooper is my favorite). I also collect heavy metal CDs and concert t-shirts (specifically Iron Maiden t-shirts, wife buys me at least one every christmas).

Iron Maiden? Now musical tastes like that should make you fit in quite well here.

Gotta love Maiden, especially with songs like Aces High and Tail Gunner (and a whole bunch of other tunes about historical events........ahh intelligent metal). Just hoping I get to see them again this year if they come anywhere near Ohio.

Re: Besides diecast aircraft, what else do you collect?

With temperatures starting to warm up, have to get back into flying hand launched gliders and rubber powered models. I have a fairly large stockpile of kits to get to and large selection of models just waiting to be taken out and flown.
