Re: Besides diecast aircraft, what else do you collect?

I have around 1000 diecast F1 and Ferrrai cars (1/87, 1/64, 1/43, 1/24, and 1/18).

I have a small growing collection of very early woodwind instruments -- but more relevant to our hobby, I have been collecting minty-mint Dinky Toys (w/boxes) -- the ones I busted up as a kid -- and the ones I always WANTED. The costs of Dinky Toys are through the roof today and I haven't seen too many Dinky Halifaxes lately (Whitley, yes, Halifax, no). Anyhow, below is a very small section of my collection.

I also have an enormous collection of Canadian Pacific Airlines paraphernalia from the late 50s/early 60s. My prize though is a china CPA 'goose logo' 3D ashtray (never used), rare as rocking horse turds, and bought from a guy who worked at my hometown airport where he liberated it from when CPA ceased service. I got it for next to nothing. (YES!)

No that is a nice looking collection. I can remember having a few of those when I was a kid. I really remember the little plastic ones the best. I seem to remember them coming in a decent size bag, and having a pretty good variety. The Me 163 was one of my favorites, still have a few of them packed away in closet.

Well thank you! The little soft-plastic coloured ones I had a veritable sack of, but gave most of them to my Brother (after raiding my prefs!!) some time back. Yup -- I think we pretty much all had some of them. I've got that Me262 in the 'reserve bag' some place!

Just a side note: The Corgi Concorde in BOAC livery on the bottom shelf was scooped SO NEW (NOSS) that I was the first to take the elastic band off the inner wraps and undo the tightly wrapped tissue paper. THAT gave me great delight for a model from 1968. (I also got it for a very sweet price.)

These are the remains of a Waterloo diorama I built about 36 years ago.

Still pick up the odd package for my kid and grandkid.

Girls, muscle cars, and flight hours. Hey that should be the title of my autobiography.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
