A little something I worked on over Christmas break

Here's a little something I put together over Christmas. The base is Frontline's D-Day village parts 1, 2 & 3. Ground vehicles, armor and figures are Forces of Valor except the Marder which is 21st Century. The Mustang is, of course, Corgi's and was chosen because I couldn't get the Mossie to sit firmly on the flimsy stand. Everything is 32nd scale so this thing takes up some room. I had to build a framed base to hold everything together because the Frontline base comes as 12 seperate resin pieces.

This was just roughly put together to see how big it would be and how everything would fit. I've still got to fill in the gaps between the separate base pieces and try to pick up some more figures (the ones pictured are probably inaccurate to the campaign as well as some of the vehicles) but they were the only ones that looked right with the buildings (in a gritty sort of way). I tried Britains, K&C, and Conte figures but they just didn't look right.

The pictures aren't that great but it definitely looks better in person. It was fun trying to incorporate ground and air in such a large scale, besides it killed alot of time during the holidays. All in all, I really like how it turned out. Enjoy!

Cool stuff man.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Thanks guys for the comments. It's roughly 32" x 24" (83 cm x 61 cm) but is more heavy than big, about 55 lbs (25 Kilograms). It was a lot of fun but once I finish it I'v gotta figure out where to put it and see if I can find a cover big enough.

Re: A little something I worked on over Christmas break

And out of curiousity (and if this applies), what did you tell the Mrs. about the project?
