| Re: DiecastAce Field Back in Biz... Very nice, Pappy. Overcrowded? Nah. I think you can stick more display cabinets in that room. Question: what stand are you using with your C1 Red 4 Dora? Looks like a Corgi 1:32, no? | |||||||||||||

| Re: DiecastAce Field Back in Biz...
Thanks Elmer -- I'm embarrassed to say... I'm having a bit of a mental block on that stand. I don't believe it's from a 1:32. I think it's a stand from a 1:72 Liberator .. ??? It doesn't exactly match any of the stands I have out right now for my 1:72 heavies? But it's not from my Corgi 1:32 models as the spit has a silver stand, the hurri stand is much wider, and the 109 doesn't have a cradle... so that leaves the 1:72 heavies. I just don't remember what box I grabbed it from. My best guess is that it's the stand from my Dragon and His Tail Lib, which is in storage in the attic or I'd look... It's not perfect, but it does hold the plane well and looks okay from normal viewing distances in the room. I may eventually get around to using one of the T-bolt stands as I believe JP showed us how to do with a small bit of drilling... but it's the drilling that's holding me off. I really don't like to physically alter my models if I can help it. I'm a bit "creative" with stands as I have Witty stands holding Dragon, CW, and (in the past) HM planes... Marushin stands holding FM models... CW stands holding Gaincorp models... Dragon stands holding MB models... and Corgi holding C1 models

Yeah, I drilled my Barkhorn C1 Dora and mounted it on a Corgi Swordfish stand. It scared me to death, but I pulled it off. I am not sure I would want to do it again... like you, I don't like to alter my model by drilling. But... the plug can always be reinserted and you can't tell it has been drilled. I wouldn't drill my other two C1 Doras though.

| Re: DiecastAce Field Back in Biz...
Thanks Harry! Not sure if it is the standard green one or not, but if you mean the green one that has been readily available from our friend in Japan, then I think the answer is yes. I like it quite a bit -- the wingspan is impressive! And that red tail is just cool-looking. It was relatively easy to assemble, too, as you can see I was able to load the ordnance, which I still have not managed with my Val! (Hence the fact that it is in storage to make room to display the Kate... it looks a bit silly without a crew but I have since been able to fit a pilot into the front seat at least (the Marushin seated pilot figs do not fit into the middle or gunner positions without modification). I'll try to put it next on the photo shoot list...
