Thumbs up Re: So....What did Santa bring you???

Well I got something interesting. My youngest son collects the smaller Corgi Showcase Planes including the sets. He sent me a really cool F-14 Tomcat Nose Art model. It has an I guess around 1/200 scale F-14 Buno and a Diecast Tail Panel on a stand made for both. The detail is way higher than I ever beleived it could be for this price range. The wings swing , the cockpit is not solid but see through and all. No gear but overall a real surprise to me how nice this is.

Post Re: So....What did Santa bring you???

I don't expect to get any planes for Christmas but did get this excellent book. Lots of excellent photos and plan drawings. I \mMight have some more books waiting for me under the tree at my mom's where I'm headed for Christmas dinner. Amazon.com: British Destroyers & Frigates: The Second World War and After: Books: Norman Friedman

Also received a $100 gift card and that might turn into a Halifax or some Century Wings Intruders.

Looks a very interesting book to me 1250 my father served on destroyers during WW2..... two that he mentioned were HMS Relentless & HMS Velox

Re: So....What did Santa bring you???

Mrs. Claus thought I deserved a red sweater. One of the elves, however, slipped in another P-51, Spec Cast (bank): BELLIGERENT BETS, a Checkertail. What a beauty, not found elsewhere. Christmas Mule is sending my way two Franklin Mint. That will be the end of the year surprises.

Happy holidays.

Two new additions and two on pre-order:

1. Playtime A-10
2. Moonlighters A-6
Both of these are the first Hobbymaster/Century Wings that I have gotten, and both are outstanding!

Pre-order:
ME-110 Defense of the Reich
A-7

Looking forward to both of these coming along later..

Re: So....What did Santa bring you???

I must have been very good because Santa left me a nice bundle of presents.

I'm a bit puzzled by how Santa knew I would like the Duxford B-52 as post WW2 ain't usually my bag. It is one impressive piece of diecast!
The Finland He 111 is pretty cool as well.
But my favorite gift of all this Christmas has to be Volumes 1 and 2 of Jg 300 "Wilde Sau" by Lorant/Goyat.
Plenty of pics of butcherbirds and Bf 109's. Volume 1 is autographed by Hajo Herrmann and Volume 2 is autographed by Gunther Rall.

As you can see I got a good assortment of mindless entertainment as well.

Re: So....What did Santa bring you???

I'm the little boy that Santa forgot! Surrounded by pools of my salty tears that have bleached the floorboards. My 'uber' present to myself has not arrived yet because of the huge volume of online shopping putting a huge strain on the postal service. It contained the following; BBMF SET (yes the Corgi one), Johnnie Johnson 1/48 Spitfire, SE-5 and Albatross 1/48 Corgi, Gentile P-51B and RAF Wessex. A Christmas without die cast is not a place where you want to be!

My wife and daughters gave me me some smashing presents as usual including books DVDs ets. At least I've got some post Christmas 'crackers' to look forward to.

Post Re: So....What did Santa bring you???

All my diecast wants are taken care of by me so it came as a suprise to get a small package from the US about the same size as a 1:400 Gemini box marked open at Christmas which I duly did the contents turned out to be a 1:144 Lancaster made in plastic by Altaya... one of a part work series available only in France & Belgium (lucky them!! ) who sent it is a mystery (as far as I know I have no enemies over there) & why sent from the US if it is unique to the aforementioned countries?.
Looking through the magazine (written in French) other "exciting" releases include an Fw Condor, a B17 & He111 all in glorious 1:144 scale ....I can hardly contain my indifference!! oh & just to add insult to injury the port wing had broken off in transit
