Question How often do you rearrange your collection?

I came to wonder how often you guys rearrange your collection.

I change small things whenever a new model gets in and once in a while I change almost everything.

Re: How often do you rearrange your collection?

Hey AA!

The majority of my collection is boxed in the basement, pending the day when I have the attic finished into a studio. So... The few diecasts I "let out" get rotated about every week or so.

Interesting concept! I try not to move them because everytime I do so something breaks off or some decals say goodby...

Re: How often do you rearrange your collection?

I usually make shifts in how I display my models when a new one comes in. So in truth sometimes it is weekly, but with a dry spell in purchases it might get stretched out. Since I have three pieces coming in over the next couple of weeks, I will probably have to be some adjustments.

Interesting! What's coming CC, and will they be in the fore of your premier display area?

I have a 1/72nd scale P-36 coming in (It really should have been in by Saturday,,,Holiday mail), Dragon Me 262A-2A (Single seater with wavy pattern camoflauge), and a Corgi Ju 87B-2 Trop SI+GK II./StG I Lybia (This I think will finish up my desert Ju 87s).

Re: How often do you rearrange your collection?

I cycle my collection every 6-12 months or so -- box up some heavies and put some from storage out maybe... same with fighters, etc. But once I get a display the way I like it (which can take a few weeks of fiddling) I leave it pretty much alone.

Plus you're unique in that you have an online display space. So if you ever want to see one of your faves, there it is.

Me too.. I cycle some items when I get the urge, but for the most part, my collection stays as it is..

Re: How often do you rearrange your collection?

I only re-arrange a little bit, only as necessary, when I get new models. But then, these small changes can add up to a significant variance over the course of a couple of years.

And then, once in a great while, a more major change is required due to a new display cabinet being acquired. I fear this will have to be the case not too far into 2008...
