Re: My little collection in east Texas.

Thats a fine collection you have there, and there is nothing wrong with having favourites. The FW190 is a cool looking bird.
I was delighted to see you are a man of singular good taste, yes I spotted your nice little group of P40s sitting there.
Because you have a few 1/48 planes how about the Carousel P40? Any of the guys on the forum will tell you its a beauty.
it would sit well next to the Buffs.

The Carousel P 40 is definitely on my must get list.

Re: My little collection in east Texas.

Nice collection. I see that you prefer not to alter or weather your models as I often do. As for its relatively modest size, I have changed my attitude about diecast collecting. At first, I bought everything---often in duplicate or triplicate. Now, I buy much more selectively and often pass on a new entry entirely. I'm getting tired of the endless stream of P-51s, Spitfires and P-40s---even though I understand the business motives behind such decisions. Now, if only someone who knows what they are doing will give us a Hudson and a Dornier 17Z---and maybe a Betty, Kate, Val, IL-2M, MC-202. Gulp! There I go again, giving in to this mania. I guess it's time to buy a few more display cases.

Pretty impressive collection. Glad to see we have some of the same A/C.

The B-24 Michigan. I guess we have something in common!

When it comes to weathering a model, I pretty much like to start the project from scratch. I have close to a hundred fifty (If not slightly over 150) kits set aside for future projects. When I get around to bashing these out, then some weathering and detailing will get done. I have a Heller 1/72nd Focke Wulf Fw 56 Stosser that has been tempting me lately, and that may be my next project (Of course there is a Heller Morane 225 kit sitting next to it and it looks pretty tempting too.). I have also been snagging up old HAWK, Lindberg Line and Aurora kits to make a shelf that has all the good old early 1960s hobby shop shelf look to it.

Re: My little collection in east Texas.

Cruver Collector, I am very impressed with this collection. I love the Buffalos and the Rufe and Oscar look great! Is that the FM Rufe? Looks A-OK.

The B-24 presents very well, maybe it's the gear up, maybe it's the silver finish or the angle of the photo.. but it's serious. The British PBY is also an eye-catcher.

Thanks for sharing the photos!!

Nice start CC! My eye was drawn to that Junkers 88. Never thought I'd go for the tan one. Huh?

You a right on the Rufe being a FM model. This is my first FM model and I just received it a few days back. I have to admit that I like the Rufe that FM put out.
