Re: My 1/144 collection or "will someone make these in 1/72 please"

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of my 1/144 collection. This is my "I wish they would make these in 1/72 colllection." These are all plastic, mostly prebuilt kits from Japan. The corgi b-52 is diecast and makes for an interesting size comparison.

A-7- Coming from Century Wings
A-1- Coming from Gemini Aces
P-61- Coming from Hobbymaster

Don't know about the rest...

I knew about the A-1 and A-7, since they've actually posted prepro pics. Has there been any confirmation that HM is going to do the P-61?

I have some of these models in 1/144 becasue the alternatives in 1/72 are pretty poor. The F-15E and "Pete" being the prime examples. Thses models aren't perfect, but better than nothing.

Re: My 1/144 collection or "will someone make these in 1/72 please"

Is/are there any 'specific' marks I should be looking for that would indicate the type of model that is inside the package? I'll have a close look at them come Monday and get back to you.

Thanks, Slammin has told me that only certain types of manufacturers actually label the boxes, but if you can tell me what brands and series they are, I can get an idea of what I will potentially be getting..

Why don't you ask the store owner to open the boxes so you can see what is inside.
You might be doing him a favour, he probably does not know about problem and is wondering why these models are hanger queens on his shelves.
He won't re-stock if they are not turning over.

Believe me I asked them about that. He said flatly store policy doesn't allow them to open boxed merchandise on the spot, period!

What's their policy on returning opened merchandise?

That's the trouble with franchise based hobby stores, owners/clerks just work there. Probably have no interest in hobbist or our needs.
I don't much care for "we carry everything for the hobbyist" but "we don't know anything" type of stores, would much rather have an owner/operator who is enthusiastic about hobbys.

I can sympathize with your sentiments. However, if I was running my own business I would play it safe and be a little leery of customers returning merchandise that could possibly have been tampered with or switched to something else. Some bad customers are really getting pretty damn slick in returning goods for exchanges or refunds (case in point: Walmarts, TARGETs and even Toys R Us) have been victimized by fraudulent schemes. These customer nutjobs take advantage when store managers aren't around, and instead deal with unsuspecting clerks to pull their criminal intent unchallenged. It's a vicous cycle!
