Dewoitine D.520 in 1/48th scale

This was probably the last bit of serious work I have done (Really need to get back into building). It is a Tamiya kit with lots of extra resin extras. I really liked the cockpit on this one and wish I had a better close up shot. Unfortunately this one went MIA after being displayed in a hobby shop. Last photo is how it appeared in Fine Scale Modeler Reader Gallery in July of 1999.

Nice, Cruver, I really appreciate you sharing shots of your builds. Too bad this one went missing. I hope the hobby shop made it up to you in some way.

Beautifully done, pity you had to lose it. I hope the person who took it, drops it.

Even though it is MIA to me, I hope it is still intact somewhere.

Re: Dewoitine D.520 in 1/48th scale

Nicely made model, Cruver - I've always rated that kit (Highly)

One evening, in my Local Beatties branch (at Lakeside, shopping-Mall), I picked up a D.520 (or so I thought) 'reduced' to £8.........

When I'd got it home, some crafty ******* had swapped the 'Box-lids' over, only for me to find a 'Korean-War' P.51-D inside

Didn't gripe, as I love P.51's anyway, & had 'Bucketloads' of (decent-quality) after-market Decal sheets for P.51's (Aeromaster, Super-Scale, Micro-Scale etc, !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the thumbs up on the D 520. I had cockpit set by a company that I think was called Aires. It had both resin and photo etched parts. It had that odd looking square shaped gun sight the French used. Gun sight was a little tricky to get lined up, but end result was fantastic.

Nice thoughts CC, effort and dedication to a job well done, has to supercede a lust for bad intention.
