Re: Ju 88G-6 Nightfighter in 1/48th scale

One of the lads, who makes models that are featured in Magazines, had a 'Mad' crush on 'Tri-master' kits............

4 of my mates tried to 'Lynch' me, when I came away (one afternoon, at 'Southern-Expo') with a sought-after 'Trimaster-RammJager'
Being bribed & seeing the 'begging' going on around, made me laugh myself Hoarse !!!!!!!!!!

Guys between the ages of 30- 40, going a 'Dribbly' over a (stupid) kit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (which is still here, unbuilt !)

Felt a bit differently, though, last-year, as one sold on USA-E bay, for a whacking $75.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It used to be on eBay you might come across a couple of pages of Trimaster kits, but that pretty much tapered off about two years ago. The Trimaster Rammjager you picked off is definitely and outstanding find (I have seen one go higher than $75.00).

So, Cruver,

Why are kit-makers getting such a 'boner' over 'That' kit ??????????????

(with typical Brit-humour !) I mainly bought it to 'tease' my mates (carrot & stick - as we'd exchange much 'Ribald-Banter' !)
It was worth it, just to see their faces & the next 20 mins of 'begging' & 'pleading' (cruel-Git I am !!!!!!!!!!!!)

I only gave £10 for that (RammJager) & a Tri-master A-8 (standard)

Surely enough aftermaket bits exist, to not to 'Have' to rely on (what is apparently, now) a 'rarity' ????????????????????????

With the quality of modern (computer-generated moulds) + (as you say,) Aftermarket bits like 'Airies' & 'True-Details' & 'Eduard' stuff,
I would have thought the 'Demand' for (yet another) Fw.190 variant wouldn't generate that level of interest ????????

I have know a few that actually are into collecting these kits. The Trimaster kits do have some nice add ons and the one you picked up is no exception. I have have picked up a photo etched set from Eduards if memory serves correct for doing a Rammjager Fw 190 conversion, but it is some much nicer when it comes with the kit like Trimaster used to put out. I had a couple of neat Trimaster kits that had some really neat munitions. One that comes to mind off hand was a Fw 190 with X-4 wire controlled air-to-air missile and another Fw 190 that had the 55mm rockets under wing mounts (It has been quite awhile, but rockets may have had photo etched fins). I can see why your mates want that one in a bad way.
