Armored Vehicle Collection in a box

The United States Army actually put out a fairly neat armored vehicle collection in the mid 1980s. Ok, it was really a training aid for tank recognition, but it does make a good tank collection now. It was put out by TASC or Training Audiovisual Support Center at Fort Knox. It full nomenclature was DVC-T17-102 Armored Vehicle Identification Kit. The kit consisted of 16 1/35th scale armored vehilcle models and were made of what looks to be a black resin type or plastic material. Tanks are fairly detailed and have a nice heft to them. I have come accross two other kits over the years, but they were in fairly poor shape.

First layer of vehicles: T-80, T-62, T-55, M577, Leopard II, Bradley, T-64, and Abrams

Second layer of Vehicles: M60, Centurion, Leopard I, ZSU 23-4, M113, BTR 60, BMP, and T-72

They are really interesting. Does anything move, turret, tracks?

Turrets rotate, but tracks are molded.

Re: Armored Vehicle Collection in a box

Ah the good ole days!! I should try to find those for the boy to beat up. When I was a LRS guy in Germany, a friend and I would build modern AFVs for use in vehile ID training. Nice way to get the Army to buy our toys. But hey next to commo, that was our bread and butter mission.
