Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

I would, AA......but it's an awfully big dump, and I don't think I'll ever be able to find it....

Oooops, so you threw it right away?

Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

I prefer to say it's on permanent loan to the local landfill museum......makes me feel better somehow.

Okay...
It is very kind of you to preserve such a piece of diecast for future generations to dig out!

Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

Bonjour FVD !

Do you know what kit is the lovely IL28 ?

Merci.

Salut! Unfortunately, no, I don't know. The seller in the store did not know when I asked him. He just sells whatever that model builder gives him to sell, and doesn't seem to care much about the original kit itself (even thoughthey do sell palstic kits in that store as well).

Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

I had one of those Armour Miss Americas...The last time I moved, when I unpacked it I noticed it had a broken prop and one of the horizontal stabs came off...would have been an easy fix but I didn't bother....Why?...cuz it was an Armour Mustang!...now they seem to be commanding some pretty big money...

Yeah, Skunster, I know what you mean, but hey, it's the only P-51D available in 1/48 (diecast anyway). And I remember, when those things first came out, I thought that even with all its flaws it was just incredible that anyone made this plane in that scale IN METAL with what was at the time a relatively high degree of accuracy (I mean, there really was nothing else to compare it to except a few toy planes). So, I still like like them enough keep them around until some other brand makes a better D model.

Since no other company seems in a hurry to to just that, I am seriously considering modifying the gear on all of mine (I only have 3, counting Miss America) so they'll look better. It's only part of the problem, but it's a major one. It won't be too easy to do, though.

Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

I forgot to post this one during my last update: HM Buffalo, Far East Netherlands AF, has joined its brother from the RNZAF. This was another Big Gund Collectibles purchase during my visit there.

Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

Continuing in 1/48, new "Red 4" C1 Hoffman Fw-190D-11, along with HM's Spit XIV "Johnnie Johnson":

FM/A P-38 "Jack" (I really like that one, as far as FM/As are concerned):

Another FM/A model obtained at bargain price through the good works of Armour Addict, P-51D Old Crow signed by Bud Anderson:

Re: FormerViperDriver Collection

And finally in 1/32, BBI F-4J Phantom VF-84. I think this is a great model for the price, I hope BBI does a USAF version soon, and eventually, an E model (one can always hope...).
