Re: Superb !

I am even a little jalous...

I saw you have a Dragon's F15E with drop tanks : where do they come from ?

My own F15E looks naked...

Hi PNF I had to find the box for that plane to get the info for you. It's Dragon # 50223, F-15E "Knight 4 Warned" and has the old Warner Bros. cartoon martian as its nose art. The tanks come with the plane. It's a really nice looking model!

Wonderful collection Black 6. Nice to know we have some models in common.

Obviously Swoop, we are both collectors with impeccable taste!

Cool Re: My little collection thus far

Nothing like puttering around the house on a holiday. I took the opportunity to dust the airfield and aircraft a bit. I also thought I would take some snaps to share since I have enjoyed what others have posted of their collection.

I collect a little bit of everything. Mostly Corgi with a fair amount of Dragon thrown in for good measure. I have some IXO (but aside from their Japanese aircraft I am over them). You will also see a few Carousel 1 models and Eagles International as well as some Cyber Hobby.

Only one Gemini Aces so far.

And I included a pic of a couple of plastic models I recently worked on.

So there it is, all that I can cram into my little office (spouse will NOT allow any of my collection to infiltrate beyond the office door). Enjoy!

hi b/6 you would not believe how many model we have the same! biffo

My dear Jim, coming from you that is high praise indeed. Thank you sir! And if you are speaking of my Carousel P-40 (Pearl Harbor - Geo. Welch) it is very nice. If you have the latest issue of Flight Journal magazine you will not be disappointed as the cover and story inside is of a similar model that was just restored (and is a Pearl Harbor survivor). I compared my model to the mag pics and Carousel did a nice job of it.

Take care

OK Ara, I am almost afraid to ask, what's a "Fargan"?

Re: My little collection thus far

OK Ara, I am almost afraid to ask, what's a "Fargan"?

Hi Black 6, since you outrank me in posts, I must answer your questions (check the forum decor rules for this little-known directive).

I am one of the resident loonies on this discussion board. I'm not just certifiable; I've had my certificate framed. Sometimes my posts tend to run off. Like a river.

So. Canucklehead had a very humourous post:

http://forum.themodelhangar.com/showthread.php?t=3474

His post was presented in such an original, entertaining way, he deserved special commendation. Thus the Fargan Award was created, where he was nominated and received 5 affirming votes from other thread participants.

An examination of his post reveals how he took a mundane, technical decal repair issue and animated it with action figures and dialog. Witty, clever, creative. The term "Fargan" is taken from an old (1980's) comedy called "Johnny Dangerously" where a crime lord with a funny accent misprounces swear and cuss words such as "fargan", "son of a bastige" and "iceholes". At one point in the movie, he declares "fargan war" on his adversaries.

Now, on this diecast discussion board we don't want to declare fargan war on anyone. However, if someone's done a fargan nice job or has presented a fargan great collection then they can be nominated. Looking at your very excellent collection, it's clear you have the makings. For me, the railgun does it. Either that or the Do 335.

I hearby nominate you for a Fargan Award and will need 5 confirming votes hencewith.
