So long as you are talking about mostly metal models, it doesn't matter where you store them , Obviously, this does not apply to Easy Models, which are all plastic and need to be kept away from high temperatures.

Yeah, because I have my bubble mailers, plastic peanuts and some shipping supplies, along with over 250 diecasts planes. Have room for all the ones I have on the want list too. Just picked up "Legal Eagle" B-25 tonight on ebay for $60.00 and when that comes in that will join the rest until I get some display cabinets from the local IKEA.

Yeah, I am slowly running out of room for my collection of 1/72 diecast WWII planes. So far I have 48 planes with one more on the way (B-24) and they are displayed on a book case. when I do run out of room I don't know what I'll do. But I won't stop collecting!

Currently I have 90% of my planes in storage. Ironically I don’t have space for the type of curio I want, however I do have a huge store room in my house were I keep my planes and other things.

I just reorganized my planes so they are stored in boxes which divide the planes into planes types, manufacture, & theme.

this is where I keep my planes if you can make out the planes, sorry for the very bad picture. On the top shelf is where I put my top 3 biggest planes. so in the #1 spot is the B-24, #2 PBY Catalina, and #3 Wellington. The 2nd shelf consists of just American planes. The 3rd shelf has British, Russian, and French plane. And the last shelf contain German, Japanese, and Italian planes.
