While eating dinner I peeked around the empty boxes stacked on the table. Her comment was thus. 'Will this mess be cleaned up by next Christmas ?

Were the models still there? It could have been Skunk droppings that you found (those little critters get around you know, diapers and all ...)

Strangely, the only models left were the Corgi Mustangs.

I'm in Northern Calif and i have mine in the attic and there has been no ill effects at all to the diecast planes.I will go up there about every 3 months to check on them and happy to say no problems.
I use the same Rubbermaid Bins that HWorth just stated they come in very handy.

Maybe you should consider buying less I know its tough but it can be done its like stopping smoking. Maybe someone should start up DCA (Dieast Anonymous). Seriously though my extras are stored in vacuum bags that are normally used for clothes and then then in plastic boxes in my loft.

It is getting to the point where I have to put away my nascar diecast because I am out of room to store stuff myself lol. OH well it's off to the diecast store to buy more and then home to find space to put it

I have mine ( at least the ones still in their boxes ) stored in the garage for years and most are in those Rubbermaid plastic bins and some are packed away in large heavy cardboard boxes.The climate I live in is very similar to JPs environment (extreme warm and cold temperatures). I look/inspect them over every once in awhile, and haven't noticed anything or have any problems that has been mentioned so far.

Lucky for the wife and I, we have a 5x10 foot climate-controled space at the local U-Haul strage place. There are so many boxes of die-cast in there and just keep adding to it. Plus I keep bubble mailers, shipping supplies and plastic peanuts, etc there so I can use it as a business deduction since I have a home based business.
