Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Like these, FlyXwire?

I only want one more of the Dragon Mustangs - DRW50051S, the "blue" Mustang, and I bought that one from parsig9. Other than that, I have two more Gemini Aces on their way ("Bald Eagle" and "Princess Elizabeth") as well as two Corgi P-51Ds ("Nooky Booky" and "Creamer's Dream"). I hope to get Corgi's "Bunnie" to have the two Tuskegee birds sitting next to each other. I know that Corgi P-51Ds are not that great - I got them at lower than suggested retail price, and they'll look good with the rest (sitting in the back row!).

I really wish they'd make a P-51 in RCAF livery - Canadians flew quite a few of them during World War 2. From what I have read, they were lend-lease Mustang IVs (P-51Ds and Ks).

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Now that's what I'm talking about! The "blue" Mustang is a bit hard to find these days, I had to settle for the "green" Mustang!

It's on the way today! You might like to know that Meteor has flown some here. You are the 5th member to have it! It originally belonged to Nuclear Tiger back on MHI and then "Brad" who was a very active member on MHI and I don't think I've seen him in a while now.... I got it from Chiefs70 a year or more ago and now it's yours! How many planes have been passed around the country like that?

China---California---Brad (Eastern Time Zone)---Kansas---Michigan---Canada.

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

New parcels today. Received five altogether.

B-25J "Heavenly Body" (AA35301) surrounded by a gaggle of Dragon Warbirds P-51Ds. I got sick of their landing gear collapsing every bloody time I rearranged them, so they're all on their stands now. Looks all right to me:

Hurricane I night fighter (AA32002). It cost a bit more than I would usually pay and came all the way from the United Kingdom, but it was worth it:

My RCAF/RAF "night mission" birds together. All that's missing is a MZ exclusive Mossie night fighter:

Douglas Bader's Hurricane I (AA32004) and a desert fighting Hurricane IID (AA32009). I don't mind that the desert Hurri doesn't have a tropical filter.

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Corgi Fw 190A-4 (AA34306), purchased at discount from Perry's Aircraft after I received the RCAF Lancaster with dropped Merlin Kudos to Perry's for their adept handling of my particular problem:

Corgi Bf 109E-3 (AA32103) as flown by Waldemar Wubke:

Dragon Wings Fw 190D-9 (DRW50080):

The hideous but cute Corgi Bf 109E-7 trop (AA32105) with painted-on tropical filter:

14 Bf 109s in a few square feet:

8 Fw 190 "butcher birds" in the space remaining:

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Gotta keep these two beauties hidden away until I can a) find space and b) figure out a way to justify a new scale to the boss!

Great looking selection of Hawker Hurricanes, night fighter version looks pretty slick.

Bunches of Bf 109s and Fw 190s too. That alone makes for a great looking collection. You definitely have fantastic looking selection of aircraft.

Funny story about that one - when I was rearranging the Mustangs earlier, I must have bumped the shelf a bit too hard, because the loose Merlin on the Lancaster dropped and almost knocked the new Hurri off the top of the shelf - a 6' drop! However, the little bird just dipped a little to one side on its flexible Corgi stand... say what you will about those stands, it saved me a headache today. It was bad enough that I have to do emergency surgery on some of the new Dragon Warbirds that I'm getting... bleh. To have to fix a super-expensive Corgi bird would drive me nuts.

That would have made for a real depressing day if that Hurricane would have come to grief. Go Corgi stands!, at least in this case it helped save a model. I always hate it when one of my models tries to test the effects of gravity.
