Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

At least I have enough space in the "man room" for all of my tanks & planes... as well as all of their boxes in my closet, which is roughly 25% clothing, 25% Rubbermaid containers full of my childhood collections and 50% packaging for planes and tanks.

At least you have your priorities straight, never get rid of the old stuff, to many memories.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Four more packages today - one from eBay seller wjhoppe (IXO Defiant IXJ00018 and IXO Hs 129 IXJ00027), one from VectisDirect in the UK (Corgi Bf 109 AA32101), one from eBay seller roccimodels (Dragon Wings P-51D "Glamorous Glennis III" DRW50001, Dragon Wings P-51D "The Millie G" DRW50003 and Dragon Wings P-51D "Petie 2nd" DRW50019) and one from eBay seller ggj4722 (Corgi Ju 87 AA32510).

I was especially happy to have my three new P-51Ds by Dragon Wings. However, although Petie 2nd gave me no trouble at all, the right landing gear of Millie G needed a major repair and the Glamorous Glennis didn't have a canopy in the box! I have emailed DragonModelsUSA, the main Dragon Models people in China and the original eBay seller to get one of them to send me a damned canopy. Talk about a disappointment!

Here are a few more pics for today.

The IXO Boulton-Paul Defiant Mark I (IXJ00018). It was covered in oil and the landing gear is trash, but it looks all right. It will look great next to my Corgi Hurricane Mark I night fighter (AA32002) and Corgi Spitfire Mark Vb night fighter (AA31908) when they arrive next week:

Dragon Wings P-51D "Petie 2nd" (DRW50019). This one went together like a charm and displays beautifully next to "Big Beautiful Doll":

Dragon Wings P-51D "The Millie G" (DRW50003). This one was hell to put together and I had to patiently put the right landing gear together to get it to display like this. Looks good now though!

Extremely rare & thus expensive Corgi Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4B (AA32101). It looks great next to my Dragon Wings Bf 109G-6 (DRW50254):

My Henschel Hs 129 tank buster (IXJ00027). Covered in oil but at least it displays nicely. The swazi wasn't very hard to apply despite the fact that I couldn't scrub all of the oil off...

Quite right - I've kept all of my childhood Star Trek collection because of that. Mind you I have nowhere to put them other than a Rubbermaid container right now... but eventually it'd be nice to put them in a glass cabinet. When they're actually worth something I mean

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Like the IXO Defiant and HS 129, just kind of wish they had done the Defiant with day time paint scheme.

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Received a few packages today and yesterday (10 to be precise). Thought I'd share with y'all.

Here's my RAF/RCAF gaggle now:

IXO Junior Bristol Beaufighter Mark X (PIXJ000031) as flown by RCAF 404 Sqn. in June 1944. All in all, I can't complain about this bird - it's hefty, it looks good and the undercarriage is much sturdier compared to that of the Do 335 and Defiant:

My first Gemini Aces Spitfire IX (GARAF1006) as flown by George "Buzz" Beurling December 1943 when he was flying in RCAF No. 412 Squadron on RAF Biggin Hill:

My first Witty Wings Spitfire IX (WTW72002-007) painted in the markings of one that served in RCAF No. 416 Squadron at RAF Sten Lundberg in 1944:

My first Corgi Hurricane (AA32008) as flown by William McKnight in RCAF No. 252 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. A beautiful bird, no doubt about it!

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Hobby Master SBD-2 Dauntless (HAHA011) as flown by VB-2 on U.S.S. Lexington before the war:

My first Dragon P-47D Thunderbolt - "Big Ass Bird II" (DRW50203) as flown by Howard Park in 513th FS in 1944-45. Looks good, weighs a tonne but the funniest thing happened - during shipping the engine fell off. Hot glue works wonders, but man, I wish my bout of bad luck would end! Lost the radio antennae too... and I don't even have a carpet monster as an excuse.

11 Bf 109s and counting.

The three newest Bf 109s - two Bf 109G-2 trops (DRW50068A & DRW50087) and the Cyber Hobby Bf 109G-6 (DRW50249) as flown by Erich Hartmann in October 1943:

"Butcher Birds" - three Corgi Fw 190s (AA34303, AA34304 & US34308) and three Dragons (DRW50079, DRW50083 & DRW50256). More coming:

Close-up of the "Papagei" staffel Fw 190D-9. The paint scheme is stunning and while I know there is talk about inaccuracies in this model, I like it:

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

My collection of big Luftwaffe birds & Me 262s. Note the Corgi Heinkel He 111H-6 (AA33708) that I managed to cram in there... a good-looking bird:

New Me 262B-1a night fighter (DRW50267) to replace the pro-built model I sold a few weeks ago:

My dark RAF/RCAF birds. Note the new Corgi Wellington Mark III (AA34803) and Corgi Spitfire Mark Vb (AA31908). Still waiting for the Corgi Hurricane night fighter (AA32002):

Close up of the aforementioned Spitfire Vb:

Re: ChairmanMilo's Collection

Thank you, CC. It was hard to find - ended up buying it from Perry's.

The "Wimpy" looks great sitting underneath its RCAF No. 419 Squadron-mate. I hope to get one of those cheap Ikea glass cabinets eventually to put all of my big birds & favourite little birds inside to keep the dust off. As it stands, I don't have room for the "Phantom over the Ruhr" or the Sardinia He 111... not to mention the big birds I have on pre-order, like the Corgi "Alder Tag" Bf 110, Ju 88 & He 111 as well as the "Friday the 13th" Hally.

The "Merlins over Malta" set though... it stays in the closet safe and sound from cat dander and my clumsy hands
