2006 Collection

I was just wondering how much everyone's aircraft collection expanded last year. I thought I had only bought about 35-40 and after I counted I'm up to 59

Re: 2006 Collection

This year saw a huge turn-over in my collection. I sold boxed every Matchbox plane I had in duplicate. With most of these funds I purchased alot of new models. I replaced 80% of my existing aircraft to me that's huge.

Re: 2006 Collection

I was in the 30 to 40 range (I think. Might have been 40 to 50) as I had a new job, and was getting severence from a previous job. Unfortunately, however, that ended this past October, now I'm back to being poor. (no, no we didn't blow it all, paid off debt also.)

Re: 2006 Collection

I got to 35 and stopped counting but I've sold more than half that many too I guess.

It was a good year and '07 is off to a good start too as 10 are due to arrive in the next week.

Re: 2006 Collection

I'd venture to say that most of us are out of control purchasing wise. Everytime some one has a sale, it's WAY to easy to pick up a few extra planes that did not make the "A-list".

Suddenly you look into the garage and see way to many boxes of empty boxes and wonder how that extra book shelf you purchased went from empty to jam packed?

Wink Re: 2006 Collection

I counted 21, not counting duplicates. It would have been more had
Corgi met it's release dates.

Re: 2006 Collection

I wouldn't say out of control.
For me it was starting a new line of 1/72nd last year and by doing that i was catching up with the planes i wanted for a while. Now i have what i need.
Before i stayed with the 1/48 or 1/32 in diecast.
I have always had a 1/18 Boyington Corsair in the game room for a few years. Now i must have like 10 or so different fighters hanging from the ceiling

Re: 2006 Collection

I purchased a baker's dozen last year (13). Funny thing is that most of these were not planned - 4 from auctions that we impulse buys and a few others that I was smitten with when they were released (and looked sooo good). So much for sticking to the plan and working down my massive "To Buy List". Oh well, there is always 2007!
