| Re: My Japanese planes Nice Japanese warplanes collection, Louie! I have the most recent IXO releases sans the Tony and the Torpedo plane. I'm on the path to complete my collection as well. Could you please direct me by way of a "PM" where to get those two above? I'll be indebted and gratefull to ya. Thanks! ![]() Btw, that Hien "Tony" fighter is my favorite livery: Ki-61-I-KAIc No 3295 of the 244th Sentai, flown by Group CO Capt Teruhiko Kobayashi, Japan, January 1945 | |||||||||||||

| Re: My Japanese planes Very nice Louie; I have most of those but for the Wittys and the Grace. Have to agree with you on the Tony, that thing is probably the best looking Japanese fighter of the war, and it is pretty hard to find allright. Got mine from Spain as well, along with a box containing an Uhu, BF-110, Skua, Buffalo, and I-16. For all its bad press, Altaya does make some decent planes that no other manufacturer will even touch. So which Japanese floatplane are your referring to, the Rufe (Float Zero), the Rex (Float Shiden) or the Sub based Seiran. All three would make cool additions to any Japanese air force. By the way they recently found the I-400 and I-401 off Barbers Point Oahu, they had been scuttled there to keep the Russians from studying their design right after the war. | Re: My Japanese planes Love those aircraft Louie! Each nationality has something unique to offer the collector. I love a ton of planes from the JNAF and JAAF. Rene Francillion's 1969 book is a must have for info and ID. Out of the bunch you show here, I like the Ki-84 and A6M5 (with white surround on hinomaru) the best. Your Oscar and Tony are a close second! I built the Nichimo 1/48 Ki 51 Sonia in 1986 and I wish I still had it. Painted it in blue, looked cool. | |||||||||||||

| Great collection you have there Louie. I'm only half way there. I'm glad IXO was brave enough to do so many Japanese types. I'm waiting for Tony to land here. They were due here last November but as yet have not yet arrived. Should cost about $30 delivered. IXO is the only brand l exclusively buy locally. | |||||||||||||
