Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number - Mutant CW model

Finally! Received aCW Jolly Rogers AJ200 to sit next to my 210. But one thing I did notice right away was that the wing numbers (200) did not match up with the nose number (202). I did read Aj00 crashed and wondered if the NC version is a salvaged of 200 with 202 for the paint scheme they created. At least thats my logical guess. Anyone out there have the story and history on this one, has me quite curious now with the two different numbers on the model.

Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

I have the #200 it also has #200 on the wings....My #202 has #202 on the wings as well.
Must be a error on CW part.

Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

I'd say for almost certain you have a factory error. The squadrons are really good at matching modex numbers, it's vitally important. Plus ever other Century AJ200 all have matching numbers.

Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

Darn it! Yep, mine has 202 on the nose but the numbers 200 on each wing. Wanted to have an accurate matching pair of these two. Well, I guess the chase is still on for one of these then. Went all out with lots of hours searching the net to find this one. Had to pay double to get this one from England. Arrgh.

Yep, just went to the CW site, indeed, seems I have a mutant airplane on my hands. At least the wings still swing. Yeesh, $ 120 down the drain for this one. That hurts.

Well, maybe like a badly minted coin it will skyrocket in collector's value (You chould put it on ebay as "an extremely rare" factory missprint... and see what happens...)

Sorry! Know you worked to track that one down, too...

Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

Clearly, the model is worthless.

Fortuneately, however, I own a metal smelting plant and can dispose of it for you. Send me the model and I'll take care of everything. Heck, for another Tomcat enthusiast, I'll even waive the $10 service fee!

Seriously, though, sorry to hear about it

Wow, I wouldn't even dare to say something like that is Worthless. Especially considering the other brand of tomcats quality/accuracy.

Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

Well, popped it on a high enough shelf only the nose number shows, definately not thrilled with it. Century Wings gets a demerit in my book for this one.
Now, on the hunt again for # 200.
