Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

Tried contacting both The Flying Tiger shop and Century Wings. Flying Tigers never got back to me, although it would be a bad lose for them as they would have to take a double hit on the expensive shipping back to the UK
Century e-mailed meback with three options: 1: contact the orogonal shop for a refund which I tried. 2: A product exchange through a US dealer or 3: a product exchange through the Japan store.

The only problem is that I paid double already to get the JR model and would get one of the newer models as a replacement. Rough as I sold the Grim Reapers model to help get this one on top of the shipping from out of country and the inflated price. So options 2 and 3 make no sense. Better to just hold onto it and hope that it grows in value as a collectors piece as noted here.

god knows how much shipping you'd have to pay in total for a product exchange. Maybe you could try and change the wing numbers to 202. Less noticeable cos its just a white background, and will be even more unique that you've got 202 like that

Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

The thing is the tailfins are also marked 02, not 00.

He doesn't have a 200 with the wrong wings, he has a 202 with the wrong nose.

Post Re: Question on AJ200 with 202 nose number

Darn it! Yep, mine has 202 on the nose but the numbers 200 on each wing. Wanted to have an accurate matching pair of these two. Well, I guess the chase is still on for one of these then. Went all out with lots of hours searching the net to find this one. Had to pay double to get this one from England. Arrgh.

Yep, just went to the CW site, indeed, seems I have a mutant airplane on my hands. At least the wings still swing. Yeesh, $ 120 down the drain for this one. That hurts.

If this is an error limited to may be 50 or so models it will probably be more valuable than the correct item, if you can afford it keep it & buy a correct version too, though if you are having to import them from dear old Blighty that will be expensive.

Yep, paid a higer price plus the overseas shipping to get this one. So for now its a keeper just because I could never get the money back out of it. I have pm'd the note above to try to get the 200 in a correct scheme. Had been bidding on eBay for one but got outbid and really was nervous about paying the inflated price and shipping yet again for another chance at one. So hoping Merritec can help me get this one for the collection here.

Update:
WOOO HHOO!! Merritec was able to sell me an extra one! Received it today 8/3 and its a beautiful model. I have all three now lined up on the shelf and they look terrific. Just as long as you don't look too closely to the 202 nose numbered one.
