1/144 scale Jolly Rogers F-14 AJ200 Photos

Hey folks,

We recently presented at the Airliners International 2008 show near DFW airport. The show was mainly airliners but there was quite a crowd and some of those people were interesting. One guy who came to our booth was looking for a July 1954 American Airlines timetable so that he could use it to simulate the flights on his flight simulator...wow! His goal was to see if he could fly the routes on-time! Thats pretty intense. But most people were nice guys who just share a love for aviation. For the show, we were able to get our hands on some pre-production models by Century Wings and Hobby Master and display them. I decided to photograph the 1/144 scale Jolly Rogers model so that people can see it. I am very impressed by the model. It is small but VERY detailed. (I put one of our business cards on the model so that you can see the relative size). This F-14 blows the Gulliver 200 models out of the water in terms of detail and I never thought the Gullivers were bad either. They should be shipping out to customers from all of the different stores on the last week of July.

I'll have the models until tomorrow. Let me know if you want to see any other angles.

Take Care,
Jeff

Do they include the panels for a gear up display?

As far as I can tell, they do not. I do not see them included in the box. and it doesn't look like the gear can be removed.

Wow! The business card put the size in to perspective.

Re: 1/144 scale Jolly Rogers F-14 AJ200 Photos

Well, I think you have a valid point. But you are also talking about Jolly Rogers models and Century Wings. These are limited edition models...and they look amazing. Plus they are the first in a whole new scale. Almost every new line sells out and becomes THE hard to find models. How many AJ200s or AJ202s do you see around Hobby Stores these days? Maybe you can still find one on Ebay for a premium. I think it is a risk that CW took but I think that it might just pay off and open up a new market. The price point is higher but not much more than some Gulliver 200s. I think if it wasn't for $4 gas, these would've completely sold out in pre-orders. That being said, I'm getting one for myself... We're kind of like Blue Bell Ice Cream. We eat (collect) all we can and sell the rest. :-) It's a second chance to finally get an AJ200 for me.

Does it come with a clear plastic cover for the base?
