Wow, opened my 1st CW WOW

Well, all I can say is wow, tonight after watching The Final Countdown, which by the way is fantastic, I opened my Sidewinders A-7E Corsair II, I have put together Dragon Warbirds before and some others, these Century Wings models are much better design wise when it comes to attaching gear, gear doors and bombs, I was shocked at how easily it all went together, and then when done, what a beauty these are, just an absolute awesome replica.

The cockpit, the markings, the pilot, the rolling tires, all many notchs above the rest of the mfg/planes out there. Dont get me wrong there is still a place in my collection for Witty and Dragon as well as some others, but man, I gotta get all of these CW releases from now on.

I started a bad thing though, I am now eyeballing my sealed KA-6D Intruder as I type this, thinking about opening it also, plus I have already alloted some money to buy two more sealed models of these same ones so I can keep one of each sealed in the box, was a little surprised to see that the Sidewinders is already sold out at the Mule? Will need to look elsewhere I guess.

Well sorry for the rant, but man what a nice replica these Century Wings are.

One happy Biggie

I know the feeling. I have the CW Free Lancers and Jolly Roger Tomcats, and they are still in boxes. I'm fast running out of superlatives to describe CW planes. Absolute gems.

Other than "lack of space", why would you keep your models sealed in their boxes? And why would you buy more to stay sealed in their boxes and take up even more room? Gort, you're not allowed to reply! haha

To put your kids through college! Isn't that what Louie is going to do with AJ201?

Love 'dem boxes! Hey, you know what? I don't own a single Century Wings model, and I'm beginning to regret the fact. Boy, did I miss the boat or what-?!! Guess I'll have to grab the ol' Mastercard and do some shoppin'.

Re: Wow, opened my 1st CW WOW

I dont know about anyone else, but if I like a plane a lot, favorite for one reason or another, I might get two, one to play with and display and one so I always have a perfect one. On top of that I can not fit all my collection on display, so some do stay in boxes, and every couple of months I will dust off the display, pack a few back up and open some different ones. I dont usually look to resell at a profit, but once it a while it does happen if I got two of a model and end up losing interest for one reason or another I will sell it off to fund other new releases. Fun Fun Fun

I'm the same way. I rotate my stuff to keep things fresh. I still await the JR201. I bought 2 since I would like one for the rest of my life. I've also broken down and bought the CW VA-86 Sidewinder's too. I feel like I've opened Pandora's Box and now I'm eying the A-6's!

Re: Wow, opened my 1st CW WOW

I received CW's VMA(AW)-332 "Moonlighters" A-6E about a week ago but only set up it up tonight. Biggie, if you're impressed by the A-7, wait'll you haul out your A-6! This model was a joy to set up (admittedly, I took the easy way out and am displaying it wheels up) and the stand is adequately sturdy. Whereas I thought the A-7 was maybe just a notch above Hobby Master in terms of quality, the A-6 is two notches above it -- and that's no knock against HM! I was never a big fan of the Intruder until OMI's red tag sale tempted me to buy this model, but, man, now I can't wait for CW's next A-6.

From the visible turbines and the cockpit detail to the weapons load-out and fit and finish, this is truly a great model.

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!
