Shizuoka Hobby Show opens...Any News?

I have been told that the big Shizuoka Hobby Show has opened in Japan. This is the show where many of the manufacturers, primarily Japanese, make announcements and display upcoming products. Reportedly, the CW F-8's were going to be unveiled there as well as possible news of other upcoming releases. Has anyone heard any news from the show?... or better yet, pictures?

I am very anxious for some news and pictures, myself. I'll scour cyber space for some....

I just did a search to see what I could turn up. I turned up a lot, particularly these transforming robots (or whatever they are). Also, there was quite a bit on plastic kits, etc.,,, also Dragon diecast FW-190's. Here is a link to a site with lots of pictures:

2008 静岡ホビーショウ

However, I turned up nothing on Century Wings. I know they are there because they were going to be offering the 1/144 F-14 as a Shizuoka show special. Hopefully some pictures or a report will show up soon.

Re: Shizuoka Hobby Show opens...Any News?

Looking nice, but at $75 a plane I am not going to buy everyone that comes out like I did with the Tomcat.

It’s nice to see Century Wings is giving us a mixture of fuselage mounted stores.

Single AIM-9 Missile on 103 & 101
Dual AIM-9 Missiles on 00
Dual Mk-32 Zuni Rockets on 7

I just want to see if 00 or 101 has the kill marking on the ventral strakes since it is clear 103’s fins are plain white.

Re: Shizuoka Hobby Show opens...Any News?

Great shots-- thanks for posting them. Did you also notice the VF-41 F-14? That is one I had not heard about.

Going back to the F-8's, I noticed that NP-101 has a white nose as opposed to a black nose on the others. Also, NP-100 looks to be the later NP-100, rather than the one shot down in 1966. This is also the one photographed with the Mig kills on its ventral fin. Though I cannot see in these pictures, I wonder if NP-100 has those markings on the ventral fin. All in all, I am very encouraged by what I see here. I know I will be buying more than one of these.

Re: Shizuoka Hobby Show opens...Any News?

I may be imagining this, but 101 looks like it might even be a different gray.
