If I had to bet money on this, I would think that the first CW release will be F8E 150336 NP 100. I also suspect it will have the Mig kill markings on the ventral fin. I say this because there are pictures and information on this F-8E inthis schemd and it makes for an attractive Mig-killing Crusader with the kill markings, even if this particular F-8E never downed any Migs. I may be wrong about this, but I am not sure that 150336 appeared with the kill markings till it returned from its 1967 deployment, but it would not be the first time that someone got the year wrong. I would be happy if this were the scheme and markings on the first CW Crusader. I think it is an attractive Vietnam era scheme. That is my take on all this.

Personally, I find it a disappointment but NOT because of "what it is"---but rather, what it will likely prevent in the future: a J-model VF-211 MiG-killer. Because it'd look 90% similar. But that's what I would really love to have. But since they'll have already made a very similar-looking E-model, they probably won't do the J-model in similar markings.

Regarding the first release, I respect Glen's information, but nothing official has yet been announced out of CW. So... we are all speculating, and perhaps the first release may be something very different from what we are speculating about.

They don't seem to mind wearing out the Jolly Rogers, why would it stop them from doing another F8 with similar markings?

True, I had considered it---but the Jolly Rogers are super-duper famous, especially the Final Countdown markings. VF-211's F-8's are not so famous as to get a bunch of rereleases. (maybe though, they would do the J as a "modified re-release" of the E---much of the artwork is the same)

The info came from Eric at the Flying Mule who is head of the wholesale division, they are the North American distributor who supplies all the dealers..

Ooookay, Mr. Kingpin: I'm quite confused. Is this baby going to be 150336 (which would be the NP100 of 1967), or 149152 (the pretty-girl NP100 of 1966)? It would stand to reason that it's the former, but I'd like a bit of clarification before I pre-order.
