Re: F-8E Crusader release!

I don´t care much about the Checkmates´plane... I´ll wait for a Marines aircraft. (but this, I do with great excitement! )

Re: F-8E Crusader release!

This is one that I will get for sure....but then, I have not met a Crusader that I did not like.

Doing a USN VF-211 F-8E is fine with me. VF-211 was a squadron that saw a lot of action over Vietnam. Even if this particular plane did not shoot down a Mig, I expect that it saw a lot of activity over the north.

I like the Mig kill markings on the ventral fin. I hope that is included on the model.

Unfortunately, Vietnamese pilots were not distracted. This particular aircraft was brought down on June 21st, 1966 by pair of MiG-17Fs from 923 Fighter Regiment. Sr. Lt. Nguen Van Bai was credited with a kill.

Sergey

Re: F-8E Crusader release!

I'll be getting this one if it's really the one.
But that once again is 1966...not 1967.

Re: F-8E Crusader release!

Yeah, kinda hard for a plane shot down in 1966 to be modeled in 1967. 150336 was the 1967 CAG, being the replacement for 149152.
