It would be to see these for the A-7's.
Then you could make the correct armament for your bird.
JP

* M61 Vulcan gatling gun with 1,030 rounds
* Mark 82 bombs
* Rocket pods
* Paveway laser-guided bombs
* AGM-62 Walleye, AGM-65 Maverick, AGM-88 HARM, and GBU-15 electro-optical glide bombs
* 1× B28, B57, or B61 nuclear bomb

Re: A-7E Corsair II USN VA-25 Fist of the Fleet USS Ranger 1975

Good eve gents...

I must agree with David on this one. I my humble, newbie collector opinion, CW should have provided extra weapons sets. I agree is is somewhat pointless only to be able remove the weapons. Don't get me wrong, I believe that CW diecast aircraft are absolutely the best, but it would only take a little bit of effort to make them the ultimate !!!!

OK, so here I go again about the high and soon to be higher prices, I'm of the opinion that most collectors would understand a price hike, IF there was some added value. Such as weapon accessories. Ok rant is off, Oh yeah, one more thing, one can only hope that Mr. CW will offer separate weapons sets in the future.

Re: A-7E Corsair II USN VA-25 Fist of the Fleet USS Ranger 1975

Me thinks the wepons were made to be removable so that they wouldn't get destroyd in shipping. Something like the AIM 9 rail missing from my Black Aces bird. I don't think the intent was to be able to play ground crew and take them off and on.
Would additional sets be welcomed, Yes! But lets keep our heads as to why they were designed the way they were. Of course I could be wrong.

Re: A-7E Corsair II USN VA-25 Fist of the Fleet USS Ranger 1975

Are they actually OUTBOARD pylons with bombs, or just another copy of the middle pylons with bombs? A-7 middle and outboard pylons are very similar, but not identical. Can't be sure from the pics, though I'd guess it's just another set of middle pylons.

As for loads---I found a pic of an A-7 in Vietnam about to be catapulted off with 4 bombs on MER's on each of the outer 4 pylons, so it's certainly possible.

D.H., are you sure you're not some kinda savant? Your knowledge is scary!

Here's a picture I snapped (of the middle & outer pylons on the A-7) yesterday on my visit to the Midway in San Diego.

Just compare to their F-14. That set the standard. (Also, what Dragon does for all their jets). Century started off (F-14) by offering multiple different weapons that could be arranged in many different configurations. But each subsequent mold has had fewer and fewer "options", to the point that the A-7 is really stuck with just one configuration---plus "take them off".

Yep, received mine and the load was as pictured, so aok with me. Although I really really would like to see the extra loads so I could custom pick the armaments. The fit on the supports are not staying in on mine, keep slipping out, so going to have to do the white oir blue gel thing to keep them on again. I also had a round knob poking out on the top of the air duct, was able to push it back in. Other than that, I think the Fist of the Fleet is one of the best models yet to make it out there.

Re: A-7E Corsair II USN VA-25 Fist of the Fleet USS Ranger 1975

My Corsair arrived today and I was surprised how small it it. I didn't know the intruder was so much larger really.
My CII arrived with 2 port side gear down doors and no starboard side cover. Did any of you have that happen? Anybody have 2 starboards by error maybe we can trade??? This is the 1st CW problem I've had. Are they good about sending parts? Can I just email them?

I like it and this is a small matter but still.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.
