A-6E poll

I thought I would do a poll about the A-6. I had another thread about the A-6 and some people mentioned low-vis and combat aircraft. Lets have a poll to see how the low-vis would compare.

VA-196 Main Battery 1990

VA-155 Silver Foxes Desert Storm 1991

Re: A-6E poll

Low vis would be nice but not necessarily the Silver Foxes.

Re: A-6E poll

Low vis please CAG birds are played out. Anybody & everybody who makes navy jets always makes CAG brids, give us something different for a change, we want the everyday work horse.

Re: A-6E poll

I already have the low visibility CW A-6E "Last Flight", so I don't want another low visibility. I would rather see a CW F-15C and F-15E.

The last flight A-6 is still s CAG bird, due to it's brightly colored tail it's far from a true low vis scheme.
CW still needs to give us some all over gray regular low vis SQN aircraft that really represent 99% of what you would see on a carrier.
CW please make at least one regular low vis scheme for each mold, doesn't have to be more than that,

Re: A-6E poll

We need way more Desert Storm stuff in 1/72 period.

I'd also love a pure low-vis, but not really the Silver Foxes. Some Marine A-6E's in low-vis would be great.

99% is a bit high considering there are generally at least 1-2 color birds per squadron, but we get the point.

Re: A-6E poll

For the A-6E in low-vis, I'd say 99%. The A-6 just barely made it into the "resurgence" of allowing ANY high-vis at all. For many years, there was not a single one with even BLACK allowed, much less any yellow/red/white anywhere in any amount.

Here's VF-142's CAG plane during the "grey" era: http://www.topedge.com/alley/images/f14b/f14b142b.jpg And that's notably "contrasty" for a CAG of that era. (Dark grey along the top of the nose and spine).

Here's a bit more typical one, VF-102's all-grey CAG: HOME OF M.A.T.S. - The most comprehensive Grumman F-14 Reference Work - by Torsten Anft! But even that is more than the A-6's usually got. (He's got dark grey fin tips and tail lettering)
