| CW A-7 modified nose gear few pics on how to get the A-7's nose gear to sit correctly. you need to remove the area of plastic on the top of the gear bay that hold's the front strut in place then file that area flat. also file some of the area that hold's the second strut flat[ie rear of the box]. keep checking as you dont need to remove much about 1mm max, your gear bay should now fit better allowing the doors to be flush with the fuselage. i will be passing this info to yoshi. | |||||||||||||

| Re: CW A-7 modified nose gear
Exactly this was what I did already to my VF-86 Corsair last week. It was quite easy to find out what had to be done. It wasn´t the only slight change: although I do normally not change anything with models that have an LE certificate, I just could not keep myself from repainting the MER´s release cartridges and the bombs´ fuses straight after the Hasegawa Weapons Set I instructions. Moreover, the Shrike and Sidewinder Missiles´ exhausts are black now and the latters´warheads are silver now. Only small changes, which count a lot in my eyes... | ||||||||||||||

| Re: CW A-7 modified nose gear I'm still working on the nosegear, I'm trying to get it not only level, but "deeper in" the well along its entire length. I'll post pics of the pilot when I'm done, I painted the helmet as best I could to match VA-86. | |||||||||||||

| Re: CW A-7 modified nose gear I also had to do a bit of sanding/filing. Then I used a spot of white glue to make sure it was secure. | |||||||||||||

| Re: CW A-7 modified nose gear Here´s something about another issue that I found... Did You already notice that the black-yellow striped ecection seat ring on top of the pilot´s head rather looks like a plate? However, it annoyed me and so I tried to remove the whole seat first. I was very surprised to find out that it even wasn´t glued on - a good surprise in this case. And so it was quite easy for me to modify that "plate" to what it will probably have looked like on "the real thing". | |||||||||||||

| Re: CW A-7 modified nose gear As I wrote earlier here, I´ve also slightly improved the MERs. Much easer than coping with the ecector seat, of course. David, I noticed that there are two small handles down on both sides of the seat - are they made to give the maintainance crews a grip or are they also for the ejector seat activation (=must they also be painted black-yellow?) | |||||||||||||
