Little Help Please

Hi guys! first post so I guess an introduction is in order. I've been fascinated with military aviation my entire life(mostly fast movers), my main outlet for this passion is combat flight sims (Lock On: Flaming Cliffs and Falcon 4: Allied Force are currently my main pursuits). I recently (as in received it today) purchased CW's VF-84 #210. Couldn't be happier with the quality, she's beautiful! BUT it came with no instructions! I only own one other diecast (Dragon F-15C), so my range of experience is no where near the dedicated collectors on this board(although now that I've seen CW's upcoming A-6s I may have the beginnings of a problem here...), and I need some help.

My problem is how to get the pilots into the cockpit? the canopy doesn't want to raise up enough for me to even attempt the backseater, and my fear of damaging the ejector handles has halted me from trying to force the front seater in until I get some guidance.

Tips, tricks???Any help appreciated!

First, welcome to the forum. We're always glad to see a new face.

I can't offer you any advice due to the fact that I don't display my models with pilots if I can help it. I'm not against it, it's just a preference. Rest assured that there is plenty of expertise on this forum and you question will surely be answered.

Re: Little Help Please

Hiya Colt40Five and welcome:

I got the same model a week or so ago and had the same problems you mention. It was my first CW model and the lack of instructions set me back a bit (check out my thread regarding this in the Century Wings area). As for the pilots, CAREFULLY finesse them into the cockpit. I had to work at it to get them under the ejection seat handles by their helmets, and it is a tight fit, but they do go in without a problem if you take your time.

Re: Little Help Please

Welcome to our little asylum, Colt40Five! We may not be bumping into each other too much, however, as I pretty much (though not entirely) end my interest in 1945, at least as far as collecting diecasts go. But plenty of people her love the "fast movers."

Everytime I see some colt 45 I hear Billie Dee Williams in my head..."Works everytime"...lol

I guess I was hoping there was a trick to getting the pilots in...I guess I shall endeavor to persevere...

Hi there,
to get it to fully open, you'll have to tug at the canopy a bit. then to put it back down, you'll have to push it in a bit as it comes down, and when its down, slightly tug it forward again so it clips and stays closed. The airmen will have to be put in at an angle for the F-14A's. Just requires a bit of a push.
