1/144 Is Now Official

1/144 is now official and it's once again... JOLLY ROGERS. My initial thought was that they were making another run of AJ200 and AJ202 in 1/72, almost sending me into a raging fit... then I realized it was 1/144 and so I'm not so angry about it. It comes with the carrier display, but it looks like the jet blast deflector is actually just a wall...

I hope after this, everyone has had their fill of Jolly Rogers so that we can move on...

Pre-pros are actually pretty disappointing. If the final product is better, I MAY pick one up but really after AJ201, I am all Jolly Rogered out (with this particular scheme at least).

Interesting concept if they all come with the deck as part of the package. Looks like it will. Photos look a little rough but let's hope they can tidy it up.

Well I see that the plane comes with pilot figures at this scale, and will also be curious to see if the flight deck comes painted, or if it remains black. If black as posted, then it could give us some painting options. I opting for a painted display.

For 1/144 scale, the Tomcat looks rather well done. I am impressed. I might have to buy one, though I hadn't been planning on it.

Still another announcement from CW and no F-8's... I want F-8's!! -- and in 1/72 scale!! Please, don't hold us in suspense any longer...

Yeah, I like the idea of the flight deck.

Looks like they will come in a plastic case. That will make it nice for stacking a whole collection of them dust-free.

Well, have you seen what Hogan/Herpa and Gulliver/World Aircraft Collection have been doing in 1/200? I think they do a better job in an even smaller scale, and since I also have a large airliner collection in the 1/200 scale, I am a happy clam with the increasing choices available in the 1/200 scale. The 1978 Jolly Rogers has swing-wings, although made of plastic. The 1980's one has fixed wings. From Gulliver and Herpa respectively.

not so sure about Herpas stuff, but the Gulliver stuff looks really good for 1/200.

Re: 1/144 Is Now Official

These were previously mentioned as diorama set, so really hope that the flight deck will be painted together with a proper jet blast deflector. But looking at the pics which come with the packaging, it looks unlikely.

May have to give these a miss since I already have these planes in 1/72 scale and am facing a real financial and space constraints esp. to catch up with 1/144 ones of the same scheme.
