Re: Anyone out there have any news on the F-8?

Which liveries are CW going to release ?? Heres more F8 pics. Is this the one you're referring to ( Shamrocks ) David ?
My personal fav is the second pics ( Is that a Sundowner ?)

Sorry not the second but the third which is a Sundowner.Note Snoopy riding a sidewinder on top of the tail fin in the third pic.

I like the Shamrocks myself. The Sundowners doesn't seem to be a real mover as you can still get the Tomcat with those markings.

Re: Anyone out there have any news on the F-8?

Sorry, those are the cool versions of the Shamrocks and Sundowners---Century can't do those because those are not from the F-8E family. No F-8E ever wore a sunburst tail for VF-111. (There were VF-111 F-8E's, but they sure look boring, and don't look like a Sundowner plane). The Shamrock F-8E's at least kept the cloverleaf on the tail, but lost the ventral fin markings (pure white), as well as the green stripes on the wings.

PS--Shawn, a Sunburst-tail VF-111 F-8C is highly desired, mainly because that'd be a MiG-killer. Despite their markings, VF-84 never got any. (half the MiG-killers were VF-211, and VF-24 got another 4, so there's not many schemes left)

I can live with the MIG killers then. Too bad on the Shamrocks, the green would look good in the hanger.

This is good news indeed! The F-8 is one I have really been looking forward to. Although I will probably buy any scheme they come out with, I can't wait to see or hear what will be the first schemes available.
