Re: Who's buying multiple Jolly Rogers?

Just curious, what does AJ/AA/AG on a tail stand for?

The first letter designates an aircraft that is assigned to a carrier. A for Atlantic Fleet and N for Pacific. The second letter stands for the Air Wing the airplane is assigned to. For example, VF-111 was a part of Carrier Air Wing 15 for years. Squadrons assigned to CVW-15 kept the "NL" designator when CVW-15 switched from the Kitty Hawk to the Carl Vinson in the early 80's. Both of these ships were assigned to the Pacific Fleet at the time.
Anyone else shed some light on this?

Re: Who's buying multiple Jolly Rogers?

I'm buying one because I like the JR livery and missed out on the first releases due to excessive procrastination .

Good luck to those of you who intend investing/speculating by buying multiple copies - at least you'll have something tangible that you may use for bartering and the chances are that they will increase in value over time (unless another company starts putting out a superior product, which I deem as being somewhat unlikely).

It's been explained on here before but the basic breakdown is that each airwing has a unique letter assigned to it as well as the A or N designating Atlantic of Pacific. I am not sure how the rotations work but squadrons will spend an unspecified amount of time with a particular airwing and certain conditions may require one squadron to move from one airwing to another.

Re: Who's buying multiple Jolly Rogers?

AJ is Carrier Wing 8, specifically.
