Re: What do you want for the next F-14?

That was the proposed Super Tomcat to compete against the Super Hornet

I thought of the Attack Super Tomcat 21 (ASF-14) too, but it never saw service and it would require tooling changes.

I could get excited about a low-vis VF-103 aircraft, no question. The dark gray tailfins with the lighter skull are probably better looking than the light tailfins with dark skull, although I'm sure I'd buy either one. While I would agree that the VF-201 markings are better than the VF-202 scheme, in my opinion the VF-201 markings look far too much like the 2003-ish VF-154 that Century has already made. So while I wouldn't place either of them at the top of my list, I'd rather own a VF-202 bird.

Hickory Shampoo and Andrew:

Looks to me like those pictures are of the Super Tomcat 21, which is more clearly represented in a schematic on Anft's website (I think for some reason I'm not allowed to post the link?). It would be cool to own one of these. If I had one, I might even buy a Superbug so that the ST21 could hang on its six

Ah....sounds familiar, but I don't recall having seen the photo. Thanks!

David, that's what I was referring to. Thought I'd seen one with some squadron markings on it, though. Perhaps it was just an illustration.

I've spent my money on strippers, diecast airplanes and camera gear. The rest, I've wasted.

To be honest, I don't know if it ever even made it off the drawing board.

Re: What do you want for the next F-14?

I've always been partial to low-viz planes, so anyone of these markings would make me a very happy camper.

The F-14 ST21 never existed.

The F-14D is the Super Tomcat. Maybe not officially, but plenty of patches, paint, merchandise, pilot's opinions etc have deemed it as such. The F-14 ST21 stands for Super Tomcat 21st century. It was a modified Super Tomcat (F-14D) and was intended to be rebuilt from existing ones.

Exclamation Re: What do you want for the next F-14?

Good day!
Well I can't seem to come across of a VF-1 delivery scheme photo..anyone have one? I have only seen two artists drawings and one actual photo. If anyone has a pic please share. They seem to be very rare but nonetheless thats the Wolf Pack aircraft i would love to own!

Secondly here are some pics of my first choices for century to do! I dont have a digital pic either of the VF-32 bicentenial plane so here is another good contender from the swordsmen from a long time ago. Note the painted wing tips and elevator tips and the large yellow number 1 signifying some award under the cockpit.

The VF-2 Cag bird is stunning. As well as the 97 Cag bird from VF-31. Too bad it didnt have a snow white bottom! Also on the low vis side of things Fast Eagle "Last Tomcat Cruise" VF-41 and the VF-143 would be super nice semi low vis birds as well as a personal favourite the VF-211 XO mount.
Enjoy!
