You Guys Broke Me

Well nice job guys, you done and broke me. I purchased my first CW this weekend VF-154 Black Nights NF100. Been trying to stay away from the modern AC but everybody here keeps on going on about how good these F-14 are I had to look. Was at the shop yesterday planning on buying the Corgi Predator FAA Avenger when I see the Tomcat in the flesh. Get them to open the display a give it a once over and wow I 'm impressed the detail is great. So out comes the charge card and out the door I go with the Avenger and a Tomcat. One question how do you get the REO into the back set with out breaking something?
Now I have the A-7 and a F-8 on pre order. Going to have to hunt around for an A-6 as I think SmartD has cleaned out MH in Hamilton of all there remaining CW stock.

Re: You Guys Broke Me

Welcome to the dark side

did you get the launch mode or regular (2003) version?

I got em both. I prefer the 2003 scheme myself but there's something about a Tomcat crouched down with bombs strapped to its belly, ready to go

Re: You Guys Broke Me

I got the 2003 regular version as I prefer to display my models in flight.

Re: You Guys Broke Me

I think this scheme is one of CW's more underrated schemes. It seems like most want to buy either a Jolly Rogers or Black Aces version (which I like, but is my least favorite of the released schemes). When I first got into CW, I knew one of my first purchases had to be this plane. I really like how the American flags on the tails could be made so small and yet have good detail.

I didn't have any problem getting my RIO in my F-14 Grim Reapers.
However, I had lots of problems getting my 2 crewmen into my A-6 Last Flight---the canopy slide tabs are too thick. When I closed the canopy, the slides would push the 2 crewmen forward with the canopy. I finally glued the crewmen in with Elmer's glue and closed the canopy.

Carefully, very carefully especially if the canopy doesn't open sufficiently. Use a pair of 'needle-nose' hooked tweezers to position the figure properly into the seat.

One sheep to rule them all ...

Re: You Guys Broke Me

These forums are unhealthy...

I kept away from modern jets quite succesfully, until I started to read the CW raving. Nou I have a F14, an Intruder and a A-7 on pre-order...

Can we try with real bullets now?
