If that's the case, they better get hot and issue the VF-111 CAG bird from 1990 pretty quick- the one with the Miss Molly artwork (starboard side only).

Then I'll wait for the diecast market crash to scoop up what I want- just like I'm going to do when I buy a house!

Thank Goodness, I already have most CW Jets that I want, except the A-7s and the Jolly Rogers reissue, and will get atleast one of these jets, and thats it. ( Unless they plan to do a superhornet ) but for now, will give my diecast a much needed rest.

I can't speak for all retailers but I know that we understand that the price hike isn't going to sit well with our customers. There are ways to keep it affordable though and we plan to offset some of the price increase through ways that don't violate MAP. Anyways, I just hope that everyone doesn't give up on CW, otherwise, everyone in our family is getting an F-8 for next Christmas, even grandma!

Century Wings, Hobby Master, Desktop Models and Franklin Mint too!

Re: A-7 Corsair II----$69.99?

To me, a *big* part of the value of a Century plane is the weapons they come with. The F-14's came with a LOT. Enough to do several completely different loads. The same as if you'd bought a weapons pack for a Dragon plane---that's a lot of added value. But every mold since has seemed to have fewer options. For the A-6 and A-7, there's only enough stuff to do "with or without drop tanks". Just slight variations on the same basic load they give you. And the F-8, due to simply that it's an F-8, will likely have even less "stuff packed in". But it'll be the most expensive ever. Surely it could be a buck or two less than the F-14's...

I'd feel a lot better paying "F-14 prices" for smaller planes if they'd give the A-6/A-7/F-8 enough weapons to have multiple completely different weapons loads, like the F-14's do. (plus the fact that there are 2 completely different weapons sets for the F-14----one pure missiles, and one mostly bombs). Century started out with an F-14, and it cost a lot more than Dragon's---but even excluding the accuracy/quality, it came with a lot more weapons, as much as two of Dragon's sets---the total price for plane+weapons was about equal to if you'd bought Dragon's to start with. But later releases don't have quite as much "weapon value". Let's see the next A-6 and A-7 at least come with some different weapons, if we can't get more weapons.

Zinc prices went up? Have to increase MSRP? Ok, but give me 2 more cheap plastic bombs to compensate, and add some variety to my load-outs. Just add some Mk83's or Mk84's to every release.

(And having the Navy F-8's and Marines F-8's come with different weapons would be nice AND accurate---the Navy mainly used theirs as fighters, with Sidewinders, while the Marines primarily used them from land bases as bombers, loaded with rockets)
