Broken nose antenna fix

Hi,

I accidentally broke the nose antenna of my newly bought Century F-14 Grim Reapers airplane. Can you give me some advice on how to fix it, ie. what kind of glue to use etc?

Thanks in advance,

Smit

That could not have been easy, I've bashed mine a couple of times re-arranging but happily with no consequences.

Sounds like a job for super glue. I do hope you found the part and did not lose it in the carpet.

Re: Broken nose antenna fix

Thanks,

I luckily found the broken piece on the carpet. I just wasn't sure what glue to use so that it doesn't show.

Re: Broken nose antenna fix

Welcome Smit.

It should not be that big of a problem, I assume that the piece is not broken into half or something. so just glue it back on. you can use either kinds of glue since its not realy that big of a part. IMHO.

Re: Broken nose antenna fix

I have another problem as well. My right landing gear doesn't seem to sit flush like my left landing gear. I tried scrapping some paint of but its doesn't seem to be working. The landing gear keeps rocking, ie if the front side goes in well the back side comes out of the socket and vice versa. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Many of us had the same problem. You will have to scrape off more paint until it fits properly.

Re: Broken nose antenna fix

I had the same problem with my landing gear even when the one sde was flushed in to the top of the model. I ended up going high tech and used a small piece of wadded up tissue under it to give supprt to the gear that was sinking in too far.

The same happenede to me. No way to repair, it was bent too severely. My solution: I asked Century for a completely new pitot tube. Nothing happened first, but after I mailed the second time they answered and promised me to send me a new pitot tube.
