Re: A little birdie told me!

Yes they have the "Merry Christmas" version and the low-vis. I do hope they will slap some black paint on the tail of one and do the same version as Century. I would buy it and shut up for good. I only need one and it is not a speculative purchase. I'll just sit back and wait as my hunting days are done it takes up too much time and is frustrating to say the least. With my luck I would pay some seller over $100 for a CW VF-84 and CW would announce another limited release of that scheme......for $59.99.

Yeah we have all been caught in that trap over the years of collecting.

As long as the diecast airplane manufacturers don't start pulling the tricks that the NASCAR diecast manufacturers pulled, I'll continue to collect. Once they start doing that, it'll be time for a new hobby.

Yeah but you can usually get your favorite driver with all the cars he drove. They (Nascar collectibles) do exhibit some overkill but who wouldn't like CW to bring out another half dozen F-14's in new schemes?

Well, here's my point with the NASCAR comparison- back in the day, they'd put out a "limited" run of a certain car. Those would sell out quick. A little while later, they would put out the same car, but would change one little sponsor sticker. You wouldn't notice it unless you really looked hard. True, it's not the exact same model that was put out earlier. But, it was close enough. Pretty disingenuous in my book.
I can see the plane manufacturers doing this- put out a limited number of a certain scheme; and when that sells out, re-issuing it with a very, very slight change, such as changing the name of the Plane Captain or the Crew Chief painted on the side. I hope they don't start pulling this stunt.

Ok I understand now. Yeah, I would not buy into that BS.

Re: A little birdie told me!

Given they do monitor the board here, have heard about us here in the US wanting a low vis bird and saying it might not do well in Japan, then announce they are doing an exclusive here...
I have a pretty good feeling it is going to be the low vis skull and bones. Just fits with the logic of the situation.

Question Re: A little birdie told me!

Any idea WHEN the new F-14 repaint will be announced by CW?

Glad this never happened in my diecast Formula One Car collections. " The NASCAR Thing" If Mattel or Minichamps say " Limited " it is indeed limited.
Since I am new to the hobby, and CW being a new company, then I will have to wait and see if their current so called " Limited 1000pcs" runs out, and what they are trying to produce next.

Re: A little birdie told me!

The F-14 might be announced next week. Hopefully!

Yeah I dealt with the NASCAR over producing and over marketing for the last 10 years.. My inventory still shows some of that.. TOO MUCH!

This year is much better thou All I have to do is stock tons of DALE JR stuff he is the only driver that is selling right now... JR JR JR

I am working on a new location with twice the sq feet and I will stock LESS Nascar and more AIrplane stuff

Hope there is not a lot of broken hearts if this CW F14 does not materialize.
